I recently visited the Starbucks located in Anaheim Hills during lunchtime. Despite having passed it numerous times before, this was my first official visit with a purpose. What sets this Starbucks apart from others is that it doesn’t have a drive-through! You have to climb half a flight of stairs to enter the establishment. Although the inside seemed to be designed to accommodate long lines, it wasn’t ideal for a lot of people who may want to hang out or get some work done. However, there are some choice spots inside to set up a laptop session. During my next visit, I plan to grab a seat next to one of the beautiful windows overlooking the patio and the entire shopping center below. And yes, there will definitely be a next time.
What I find particularly appealing about this location is its proximity to numerous businesses, making it a great spot to meet the male sex. There is an Ace Hardware store, an LA Fitness gym within eyeshot, a Greek café, and a Corner Bakery right next door. The Corner Bakery also offers a respectable selection of brews, so it’s essentially two spots in one convenient location.

I absolutely love the balcony that overlooks the entire Canyon Plaza shopping center. Position yourself at the right table and you will be catching eyes often, like I did.
Starbucks in the Canyon Plaza gets 4 stars.
Positive: Enjoy comfortable seating choices, whether you prefer the cozy indoors or the refreshing outdoors. Surrounding businesses are male-friendly and the balcony provides excellent opportunities for visibility.
Negative: The level of foot traffic turnover raises some uncertainties.

UPDATE: I returned during a lunch hour to check out the Corner Bakery Cafe. I ordered the vanilla sweet cream coffee. Now, to feast your eyes on the menu; it looked like a coffee dream come true. However, reality hit hard when, upon receiving my food, the barista seemed to momentarily forget my order. She then leaned down, retrieved a murky two-gallon plastic jug filled with a mysterious premix substance, and poured it into a plastic cup with ice. All the while, she handed it to me with a smile that couldn’t quite mask the disappointment brewing within.

Despite the letdown on the coffee front, there’s a silver lining – they have a nifty coffee bar where you can whip up your own basic brew for about half the price. Perfect for those wallet-conscious days when fancy concoctions just don’t make the budget cut.
The sun was shining, the day was beautiful, but alas, the male presence was a bit scarce. I maintain my belief that this spot holds immense potential, but for now, I’ll likely be reserving my coffee escapades for the tried-and-true Starbucks on-site. Because, let’s face it, a consistent brew beats a murky jug of mystery coffee any day. ☕😕🌞
